…to protect the innocent

CAST OF CHARACTERS IN MY LIFE’S SOAP OPERA

The Gals

SingleChildhoodFriend - We’ve been friends since 3rd grade. She used to live in another state for a while…we didn’t get to see each other or talk a lot…but she recently moved back, we reconnected, and it’s like our friendship never had a break in between! Always there for me!

RecentlyDivorcedFriend- We’ve been friends since college. Hadn’t connected as much as we’d like to have in the last few years because we were off in “married life” and lived far apart but we’re trying to reconnect now. She’s is recently divorced and we’re very similar in our thinking over the whole situation!

MommaBear - That’s easy…that’s my Momma! My best friend.

CapricornSoulSister – We’ve been friends since high school. We’re so different but I think that’s why we get along so well. I can say anything to her…and I mean anything at all…down to the dirty details. She’s experienced SO much of my life with me and I don’t know what I would do without her in my life. I think it’s great to have a sounding board of someone who your opposite to bounce your crazy thoughts off of. She really analyzes them and tells you EXACTLY what she thinks!

SingleCityGirl”B” – She’s a single girl in the “city” and we’ve been friends since she was in 6th grade (I was in 7th). We became friends on the school bus ever since the day I helped her style her bangs in a fancy 1987 fashion (hairsprayed in the air in a 90 degree angle of course!)…we’ve been friends ever since. Her family is like my family and we’ve been through so much together. She lives in the “city” so I don’t always get to see her but when I do it’s like we haven’t skipped a beat!!

ICan’tBelieveHowAlikeWeAre – We met through our mutual friend CapricornSoulSister and we couldn’t believe how alike we were. We both LOVE blogging and I enjoy her company and our deep conversations.

IndianaGalPal – We met online through our mutual hobby and I can’t believe how our friendship has grown. We push each other to do better, give encouragement and support to build each others confidence in our talent and also are there for each other for everything and anything NON-HOBBY related as well.

AlwaysKnewWe’dBeFriends- We also met online through our mutual hobby and I always think back to when she said to me: “I always knew we’d be friends even before we even were.” It’s so strange how you could be connected to someone you never met in person who lives 3000 miles away.

The Guys

GI GUY – Long time friend that turned into a bit more (while I was going through the hardest time in my life)…and this may or may not have ruined our long friendship. The jury is still out on this one! I say he’s a guy that tries to please everyone in his life but ends up hurting everyone people along the way. He’s had a rough life recently and is now going off to war….makes it hard to be mad at him for recent events.

OSCAR – Oh Oscar…what can I say…Oscar is like a Dad (not like my own Dad) but “like a Dad” to me. Except he’s like a friend too…all rolled up into one. He makes me laugh and never makes me cry! He’s always there for me to listen to my ranting and raving (as well as to count my daily curses). He’s a religious reader of my blogs and is my biggest fan of my hobby. He’s the one who encouraged me to go for it! We used to sit next to each other at work and we didn’t really talk to each other until one day I heard him giggling when I said “My dad said my butt is getting fat” and it all started there. We liked to throw things over the wall at each other and we had a ruler we’d shove between the cube walls with funny pictures on it…but now he’s in another location and the ruler has been retired (which gives me a sad face)…but there is always instant messenger, right Oscar?

CITYGUY – City guy and I also became friends online through our mutual hobby over a year ago and we’ve never met in person. He’s recently separated as well so we have a lot in common. We talk a lot on IM about anything & everything we always share our latest works with each other. We recently graduated to texting and talking on the phone *LOL* and we keep saying we’re going to get together soon for that “insiders tour” of the city I’ve been hearing so much about. CITYGUY was there for me that dreaded night when I found out that “THE-X” wasn’t coming home and I’m forever grateful to him for that. He likes to pick on me but I know he has a good heart and is a great friend to me.

“THE-X” - Plain and simple…the X-HUSBAND.  Not much to say about him. As a matter of fact, I probably won’t be mentioning too much about him because there’s really not much to say!

*I’ll update this page as I talk about more of the “characters” in my life.
